Jon Vogel is one of the top strategists in Democratic politics and has won races in all corners of the country.
Jon has been a senior advisor to three Chairmen of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC): Rahm Emanuel, Chris Van Hollen, and Steve Israel and has been called “a seasoned and talented tactician” by political analyst Charlie Cook.
As a former Executive Director, Political Director and Independent Expenditure Director at the DCCC, Jon has a unique understanding of America’s changing electorate and the intersection that policy and politics play in modern campaigns.
Jon has extensive experience managing national campaigns and multi-layered communication projects including directing the DCCC’s $85 million Independent Expenditure Program that played in 67 districts - netting 24 seats for Democrats in 2008.
Under Jon’s leadership, House Democrats won an impressive six special elections between 2007 and 2010 – including picking up Speaker Denny Hastert’s open seat in Illinois and electing Bill Owens to a Republican seat in November 2009, the same day that Democrats lost both the Virginia and New Jersey Gubernatorial races.
Before joining the DCCC in 2005 Jon was a Vice President at Winning Directions, a Democratic Direct Mail firm where he helped elect Democrats in some of the most red states and districts including Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas and Jim Matheson in Utah. Jon began his career on the road and has managed and raised money for numerous candidates across the country, and spent time on Capitol Hill as Congressman Steve Israel’s Deputy Chief of Staff from 2001 – 2003.
Jon is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Connecticut College with a degree in International Relations. Jon and his wife Kate live in Washington, DC with their daughters Anya and Talia.
